General Booking Terms and Conditions

All accommodation reserved at HOSTEL CONNECT by the client shall be subjected to the following terms and conditions. Please read through them thoroughly for they relate to the booking you have made with us. Should you wish to discuss any element contained within these terms and conditions, please contact the hostel. All elements are enforced at the time of booking, unless special exemption has been negotiated with senior management and the client. No variation to these conditions shall be effective, unless made in writing and signed on behalf of HOSTEL CONNECT and the client.

 

1. Identification

(a) All guests are required to provide photo identification in the form of
a Passport, Driver’s License or similar identification that includes a photo and current address. Failure to provide proper identification may result in the guest being refused entry.

(b) Hostel Connect will photocopy the ID and attach it to the guest registration card. This is for security and safety of the Hostel, Staff and other guests.

2. Age Restrictions

Bookings cannot be accepted from any person under the age of 18 unless they are accompanied by an adult (18 or over). Guests who wish to bring their children under 16 years of age must book a whole dorm or private room. For guests aged 16 or 17 years of age, they can book into one of dorm rooms, but must be accompanied by an adult (aged 18 or over). Unlike some hostels we do not have an upper age limit but the majority of our guests are backpackers/tourists in the 18 to 30 age range.

3. Check-in & Check-out

(a) Check-in is between 1500 (3pm) and 2000 (8pm), however guests can arrive up to 2200 (10pm). Guests that will be arriving after 2200 (10pm) must notify and get approval from the hostel. Guests staying in dorms CAN NOT check-in after 2300 (11pm), unless they are occupying the whole room or other guests are not sharing the room on that day. Failure to notify the hostel and get approval for a late check-in may result in refused entry and subject to section (4h) & (4i) below. If you are not sure, please contact the hostel for clarification.

(b) Early arrival is possible from 1200 (12pm), and guests can store their belongings and use the common areas until check-in at 1500 (3pm).

(c) Guest that arrive prior to 1500 (3pm) or before the indicated arrival time of their booking, may not get a response when ringing the bell. Please be patient as staff maybe away from the reception area and not hear the buzzer. If you have to wait more than 5 or 10 mins, please ring the hostel, as staff maybe carrying out housekeeping or other duties.

(d) Check-out is at 1200 (12pm). Guest must vacate the room along with all their belongings on or before 1200 (12pm). Guests that do not vacate the room at this time will be liable to pay for an additional night. Guests may store their belonging at the hostel and use the common areas until 1500 (3pm) on their departure date. Guests with special circumstances may request a longer period of time at reception.

 

4. Booking & Cancellation

(a) Non-Refundable(especially of a sum of money paid) not repayable or returnable in any circumstances.  If you book a non-refundable rate, as per the definition, the booking CAN NOT be cancelled and any monies paid will not be returned. Non-Refundable booking will be charged to the card provided, at time of booking, or within 7 days of the booking. If the card is declined, the booking will be cancelled by the hostel.

(b) Any deposit requested for bookings are non-refundable unless subject to section (e) below.

(c) Acceptance of a booking, whether verbally, on-line or in writing, shall create a legally binding contract between the Hostel and the person from whom the booking has been accepted (the client). Where the client gives credit or debit card details to the Hostel in order to guarantee a booking or in order to make payment of a deposit or in any other circumstances, then it is agreed between the parties that in the event of cancellation or non-payment the Hostel may debit the clients credit or debit card with the full amount of the cancellation charge, any amount outstanding at the end of their stay or in respect of any damage or loss of property.

(d) The Hostel will take all reasonable steps to fulfil the reservation to best of its ability in the accordance with details provided, however it reserves the right to provide alternative services of at least equivalent standard at no additional cost to the client.

(e) The Hostel reserves the right to cancel a booking forthwith and without liability on its part in the event of damage or destruction to the Hostel by fire or any other cause beyond the control of the Hostel which shall prevent it from performing its obligations in connection with any booking. In such an event the Hostel will refund any deposit or monies paid but will have no further liability to the Guest.

(f) Whilst the Hostel takes reasonable steps to ensure that information contained within its brochures, tariffs, leaflets, website and other advertisement materials is accurate, it reserves the right to alter, substitute or withdraw any service, facility or amenity without notice if necessary.

(g) All bookings are subject to availability and Hostel Connect reserves the right to decline any booking at its discretion, and if applicable, will refund any monies paid to the hostel.

Cancellation

(h) Cancellation within 3 days before the booked accommodation date will incur a 100% charge of anticipated revenue. The full cost of all days booked will be charged to the card provided, at time of booking. If the room is re-let, then the cancellation charges will be wavered or reduced depending on whether or not the anticipated revenue is achieved. Any change in respect of the booked dates even if the client rebooks a new period at a later date will be classed as a cancellation. For all group bookings, the cancellation period is 28 days.

(i) Unless your booking has already been cancelled in accordance with section (h), your failure to arrive for a booking on or before 10pm on the first night of the Scheduled Stay will be treated as a cancellation made on less than 3 days notice.

(j) If you anticipate that you will fail to arrive for a booking on or before the deadline specified in section (i), you must let the Hostel know and agree an alternative arrival time which will replace the deadline. Failure to arrange an alternate arrive time may result in the booking being treated as a cancellation in accordance to section (h) above, and you maybe refused entry on arrival.

(k) If after arrival you fail to stay for the full period of your booking, the Hostel will not reimburse you for the remainder of your booking.

5. Liability of the Hostel

(a) Except in relation to death or personal injury caused by our negligence Hostel Connect’s liability remains, at all times, limited to the value of the services booked, excluding any amendment charges paid to us.

(b) The Hostel does not accept responsibility for loss of or damage to any cash, money, jewellery or other articles of value UNLESS they are deposited at the Reception Office for safe keeping and a receipt is handed to the Guest by the recipient. The receipt must be presented by the Guest to reclaim their property or in the event of a claim.

(c) No liability is accepted for any consequential loss arising from loss of or damage to property of the Guest. The Hostel does not accept responsibility for loss of or damage to motor vehicles of any kind, or any property lost in them. This includes but is not limited to Cars, Vans, Lorries, Buses, Motorbikes, and Bicycles.

6. Liability of the Guest

(a) The guest undertakes to conduct his/her stay in an orderly manner and in full compliance with the rules of the hostel and with all applicable laws and legislation in Northern Ireland.

(b) Guests will be charged by Hostel Connect for any damages caused by inappropriate behaviour during their stay. Guests not willing to pay for said damages will have criminal charges brought against them.

(c ) Any guest removing Hostel Connect property from the premise without consent of hostel management will be prosecuted.

(d) Guests are not permitted to share any passwords or keys given to them, to access the building, rooms or services, with any person not staying at the hostel.

(e) Guests are not permitted to allow anyone not registered to stay at the hostel, access to the building or the rooms within. Any guest caught bringing another person into the hostel that is not a guest of the hostel will asked to vacate the premise immediately without refund.
