If you’re currently staying at Hostel Connect, are on your way to us, or if you’re thinking of booking with Hostel Connect, you might like to check out our Rules. Their aim is to make our hostel a happy, safe, and a respectful place to stay for all guests.

Arrivals and Departures

Identification

NO ID = NO ENTRY = NO EXCEPTIONS

(a) All guests are required to provide photo identification in the form of
a Passport, Driver’s License or similar identification that includes a photo and current address. Failure to provide proper identification will result in the guest being refused entry.

(b) Hostel Connect will photocopy the ID and attach it to the guest registration card. This is for security and safety of the Hostel, Staff and other guests.

Check In

New arrivals can check into their rooms from 3:00pm. Guests may arrive earlier and leave their luggage at the hostel but access to rooms will normally not be granted until after 3:00pm, to allow for cleaning.

**Important Note**

If you have booked a bed or beds in a dorm room that is NOT completely booked out by yourself or your party, the last time you can check-in is 11pm.

Check Out

Departing guests must remove all their belongings from their room, and check out, by 12pm. At this time, all possessions must be removed from the dorm/room. If you need to store your luggage on the day of your departure please arrange it with reception. We offer free luggage storage until 5:00pm. If you check out late, you will be asked to pay for an extra night, so make sure you’re up and ready in time!

Room allocation

When booking beds in dorm rooms for you and your friends, we may not be able to put you the same room. If you would like to all be in one room, please indicate this at time of booking and staff will do their best to accommodate you. Book a private room if you want to guarantee you’ll all be together.

Room Keys and Door Codes

Hostel Connect uses digital door locks for the front door and dorm rooms. You will be given the applicable codes at check-in. For security reasons, codes are for guests only, any guest providing these codes to non-guests, without permission of hostel staff, will be asked to leave the premises without refund.

Our private rooms use keys, guests booking into private rooms will have to provide a £5 key deposit per key, which will be returned at check-out when the key(s) is/are returned.

Age Restrictions

Bookings cannot be accepted from any person under the age of 18 unless they are accompanied by an adult (18 or over). Guests who wish to bring their children under 16 years of age must book a whole dorm or private room. For guests aged 16 or 17 years of age, they can book into one of dorm rooms, but must be accompanied by an adult (aged 18 or over). Unlike some hostels we do not have an upper age limit but the majority of our guests are backpackers/tourists in the 18 to 30 age range.

Please be aware that you may be assigned a top bunk, unless requested otherwise.

Times of Importance

The following is a list of times you should be aware of in the hostel:

1. Quiet Time: Monday – Thursday & Sunday   11pm
Friday & Saturday  12am

2. No Noise: Monday – Thursday & Sunday   1am
Friday & Saturday  2am

3. No Alcohol Consumption: Monday – Thursday & Sunday   1am
Friday & Saturday  2am

4. Common Room Closes: Monday – Thursday & Sunday   12am
Friday & Saturday  1am

5. Kitchen: No cooking after 10pm; kitchen closes at 11pm – daily

6. Breakfast is served from 8am – 10am in either the kitchen or                common room

7. Reception: Open 8am – 10pm Daily

8. Dorm Check-in Cut-off: 11pm

Guest Behaviour

The comfort, safety and security of our guests is of paramount importance to us at Hostel Connect. Any guest(s) who, in the opinion of our staff, compromise the comfort, safety or security of other guests, staff or local residents and/or property will be requested to leave the hostel premises and will not be offered a refund. Guests are expected to respect other guests, staff, local residents and property.

(a) The guest undertakes to conduct his/her stay in an orderly manner and in full compliance with the rules of the hostel and with all applicable laws and legislation in Northern Ireland.

(b) Guests will be charged by Hostel Connect for any damages caused by inappropriate behaviour during their stay. Guests not willing to pay for said damages will have criminal charges brought against them.

(c ) Any guest removing Hostel Connect property from the premise without consent of hostel management will be prosecuted.

(d) Guests are not permitted to share any passwords or keys given to them, to access the building, rooms or services, with any person not staying at the hostel.

(e) Guests are not permitted to allow anyone not registered to stay at the hostel, access to the building or the rooms within. Any guest caught bringing another person into the hostel that is not a guest of the hostel will asked to vacate the premise immediately without refund.

No Smoking

There is a designated smoking area in Hostel Connect for guests who wish to smoke. Smoking is not permitted anywhere else in the Hostel Connect building. Any guest found smoking inside the building will be fined £50.00, if guests do not wish to pay this fine they will be asked to leave the premises immediately and will not be offered a refund.

No Drugs

Drug use is illegal in Northern Ireland. Any guest found using drugs within the building will be fined £250.00, if guests do not wish to pay this fine they will be asked to leave the premises immediately and will not be offered a refund.

Alcohol consumption

Alcohol consumption is only allowed for guests over the age of 18. Alcohol is not permitted to be consumed in the dorm rooms, unless the room is booked out by one party. Alcohol can be consumed in the common room and kitchen for those in dorms. Alcohol is not permitted to be consumed in the hostel after 2am, anywhere. Guests found consuming alcohol on the premise after 2am, maybe asked to leave without refund.

Personal Property

Hostel Connect has a safe in the reception area and secure lockers for laptops and small valuable items are located in each dorm room. It is the guest’s responsibility to ensure that their personal belongings are secure at all times, and Hostel Connect accepts no liability for the loss, theft or damage to guests’ property, however sustained or caused. We strongly recommend you bring a padlock to use with your luggage & backpack.

Security Lockers

All dorm rooms in Hostel Connect have security lockers in the room for guest use. There is a locker for each bed space. Guests wishing to utilise a locker must obtain a key from reception and provide a £5 key deposit. The deposit will be returned upon return of the key.

Damage to Hostel Connect Property

Guests will be expected to reimburse Hostel Connect for any damage caused to hostel property during their stay. If the damage is caused by inappropriate behaviour and the guest(s) are not willing to pay for said damages, Hostel Connect may have criminal charges brought against them.

Liability

Except in relation to death or personal injury caused by our negligence Hostel Connect’s liability remains, at all times, limited to the value of the services booked, excluding any amendment charges paid to us.

Your Information

Hostel Connect shall only store and use information you supply to us or which is supplied to us for the purposes of carrying out our contract with you, and to inform you of other services and offers which we make available from time to time.

Errors and Omissions

Any omission or error in sales literature, web pages or site, order form, quotation, price list, order acknowledgement, dispatch note, invoice or other documents issued by us may be corrected by us without liability. We will advise you of any changes at the time of booking or as soon as is reasonably possible thereafter.

Discretion

All bookings are subject to availability and Hostel Connect reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion.
